  • Zoë Moldenhauer

Originally from Brooklyn, Zo? graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in May 2019 with a BFA in Painting, Art History and Curatorial Practices. She is the Co-founder and Director of Line-up: an artist-for-artist collective working between the Baltimore, D.C. and the Greater New York area. She currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland where she works as the Events & Community Outreach Coordinator for Code in the Schools. Under the umbrella of an invented alphabet, Zoe? explores sentence structures, syntax, linguistics and more to create a world that co-exists with a modern reality while remaining fictional. Her process of communication re-scripts language in code via visual translation to detail conversations, thoughts, and writings. These meticulous paintings and drawings evolve from Zo?'s research, manifesting map making, text, and philosophy as abstractions that are as elusive and whimsical as language.
