Public events

What is a public session?

Pick a date, grab a seat, show up. You’ll paint an 11×14″ canvas with step-by-step help from one of our instructors, the bar will be open, and you’ll leave with something you actually made. Sessions run weeknights and weekends.

Looking for something more personalized? Our private events are built for groups of 10 or more, with custom paintings, your own studio, and your choice of music.

How do I sign up?

Find your closest studio, pick a session from the calendar, click “Book Now.” You’ll get a confirmation email once payment goes through. (If it doesn’t show up in a few minutes, peek in your spam folder. We sometimes end up there.)

Can I sit with my friends if we book separately?

Of course! Add a group name when each person checks out, and we’ll seat everyone together. Booking ahead helps. Last-minute reservations might mean you’re not all at the same table.

When do you post the calendar?

Each month’s calendar goes up no later than the 15th of the month before. So August’s sessions go live by July 15th. Early enough to plan, late enough that you’ll actually remember to invite people. Want to know the second a new month drops? Get on the list.

Can kids come to public events?

Yes, to any event. Kids come with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and have a great time. Anyone under 13 needs an adult with them, and because seats are capacity-limited, every person there needs a paid seat (even if they’re just hanging out and not painting).

What's your cancellation policy?

Life happens, we get it. Cancel 24+ hours ahead, and we’ll issue store credit toward a future session, good for 30 days on any public event.

A few things to know:

  • One reschedule per reservation
  • Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows aren’t eligible for credit
  • Custom events (like Paint Your Pet) aren’t eligible for credit or rescheduling
  • If we ever have to cancel a session ourselves, we’ll let you know by 9pm the night before and make it right

What if I'm running late?

Try to get there 15 to 30 minutes before the event start time. That’s your time to grab a drink, find your seat, and meet the instructor before we start painting. We’ll do our best to catch up latecomers, but a substantially late arrival may result in an unfinished painting.

Do you serve food and drinks?

Yes. Full bar, 20+ beers and wines, plus snacks from our kitchen. Full menu here.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

Public sessions, no. Our kitchen and bar offer a wide selection. Private events have more flexibility on food, though outside alcohol is still a no due to our liquor license.

Can I just walk in?

Walk-ins are welcome when seats are available, but sessions sell out, especially on weekends. Booking online is the only way to guarantee your spot.

Private events

What is a private event?

Your group, your studio, your night. Private events are for groups of 10 or more, and you get to pick your painting from our library, choose your music, bring in food (or order from our catering menu), and paint on your choice of canvas size. An instructor walks the whole group through the painting step by step while you sip and hang out.

Smaller group? Public sessions are open to everyone, weekdays and weekends.

How do I plan a private party?

Easiest way is our self-checkout tool. Pick your location, date, package, and painting in a few minutes. Want to talk it through with a planner first? Email [email protected] and we’ll set it up.

Do you only host events at your studios?

No, we’ll also come to you! Offsite events here. When you’re ready to book, our sales team handles the planning end-to-end.

Can I use a promo code on a private party?

Most of our promo codes are for public sessions only, but every now and then, we run a promo specifically for private parties. If we do, we’ll share the code in that promotion. Gift certificates, store credit, and rewards vouchers always work for private events.

What's your cancellation policy for private events?

We don’t do refunds on private events, but we’ll work with you to reschedule when life happens. The specifics depend on the event type:

In-studio private events: Cancel 48+ hours ahead, we’ll reschedule within 60 days (or switch you to a virtual event*). $125 reschedule fee. Less than 48 hours, the event can’t be rescheduled.

Virtual events: Same 48-hour rule. $125 reschedule fee, plus any cost difference between events. If your kit has already shipped, return it unopened, or we’ll need to charge $30 for replacement supplies.

Offsite events: 7 business days’ notice to reschedule, $250 fee, new date within 90 days.

Main room or full studio buyout: 14 days’ notice. All funds roll to the new date (within 90 days), with a $250 reschedule fee. Less than 14 days, and the event can’t be rescheduled.

One reschedule per event. If we ever have to cancel for unforeseen reasons, we’ll notify you ahead of time and process refunds accordingly.

General Questions

Can I use a vertical ID to buy alcohol?

Like every bar and restaurant, we follow state and local rules on serving alcohol. In some locations, that means we can’t accept vertical IDs even if you’ve recently turned 21. If you have a horizontal ID, you’re set. 

What’s Included?

For public sessions: a primed 11×14″ gallery-wrapped canvas, a tabletop easel, five brushes, and a palette with paint colors matched to the night’s painting. You can use any of our 14 acrylic colors during the session if you want to customize your design.

Lumify sessions also include access to our lightboard tech, which makes tracing and custom artwork way easier.

What's the difference between promo codes, store credit, and gift certificates?

Promo codes come from us, usually by email or the blue banner at the top of our website. Instant discount at checkout.

Store credit is what we issue when you cancel a public session 24+ hours ahead. Use it within 30 days.

Gift certificates are codes sent to you (or gifted to someone else) and work on most events.

What's your bad weather policy?

Safety comes first. When the weather gets serious (hurricanes, blizzards, ice storms), we’ll lean on center guidance and review neighboring businesses and decide whether to cancel.

If we cancel, we’ll email everyone signed up right away.

If we stay open but you’re not comfortable getting there, email us, and we’ll reschedule you within 30 days. For private parties, last-minute weather reschedules within 24 hours come with a $125 facility fee if we remain open.

What should I wear?

We give everyone an apron, but acrylic paint is unpredictable and permanent once it dries. Wear something you wouldn’t be sad to get paint on.

I left something in studio, when can I pick it up?

Our studios are only staffed during events, so check our calendar or contact customer service to find a good pickup window. We can’t store paintings, so anything left behind gets tossed at the end of the session. And unfortunately, we can’t be responsible for lost or stolen items, so double-check your area before you head out.
