                    • Lalenya Lopez
With a fun spirit and quick wit, Lalenya has taken to painting like acrylic to canvas. An artist at heart, Lalenya sketched instead of taking notes through a couple of Chemistry classes in college. After almost changing her major to Art during her sophomore year, she finally got through all of her science classes to procure a Bachelor&'s degree in Forensic Science. In her free time from studies and work she always had some kind of art project in her hand. Whether it's painting, stained glass, working up clothing or making jewelry she has never stopped learning new techniques through which to channel her creativity. In 2010, having learned to crochet at a very young age, Lalenya has even had a shawl pattern that she designed published in The Crocheted Prayer Shawl Companion. She has had her own crafting business since 2003 and enjoys bringing her creativity to life and smiles to other's faces. Able to leap large buildings in a single bound, Lalenya's teaching style brings lighthearted buoyancy to any subject. (In actuality, she probably has problems clearing curbs at her height.)

                    • Molly Mitzman
Art and creativity have been the backdrop of Molly Mitzman's life and have taken her down many interesting paths, including the one that brought her to Muse Paint Bar! She was homeschooled as a teenager and studied art at Manchester Community College for a number of years before transferring to UConn. Though her studies later took her in a different direction professionally, Molly has continued to create and be creative in her spare time and with others in her community in all the years since. While working with children at a local Non-Profit, she has had the opportunity to share that creativity and the therapeutic aspects of painting with others, and sees Muse as another opportunity to bring people together in a creative environment. I believe in the importance of creating things, getting our hands dirty and connecting with others while discovering our own talents and skills. Everyone has the ability to make something new and amazing, and at Muse I have the opportunity to help people do just that!

A native of West Hartford, Lara has always had a passion for all things creative and crafty. She went to Kenyon College in rural Ohio, with the intention to focus on Studio Art but later discovered a love for foreign language which sparked numerous trips and experiences living abroad. She moved to Mendoza, Argentina to study painting, drawing, and psychology at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo and to explore South America. Upon graduating college in 2014, she went back to Italy to revisit her roots and family and taught English at an Italian high school in Brescia. During all of her travels and expeditions she always made time to reflect on her experiences through creating art and murals, often gifting them to friends or family in that place. She believes that art is universal and is glad to be back in the Hartford area spreading the joy of creating art!

                    • Brette Guilmette
Brette always knew she wanted to pursue a career in art ever since she was a little girl. The idea of doing anything else was less than exciting. She has BFA in Graphic Design but her passion lies in illustration, which she practices in her free time. Art, for her, has always been a way to express who she really was, whether it was a commissioned piece or something just for herself. They say if you do what you love you never have to work a day in your life and being able to pursue her passion as a career has made her dreams become a reality.

Raised in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut, Marissa grew up making her own fun, and chasing after every next adventure. Her curious nature lead her to be an avid explorer -- whether it be solo-traveling across Europe, living alone in southern Italy, or hiking in Appalachia, count her in! Her interest in the world grew into a love for light, and in 2016 she graduated with a BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design. There, she was a recipient of the Abelardo Morell Thesis Prize, and her work has been shown in and around Boston, including at the Griffin Museum of Photography. Marissa currently works for a local non-profit bringing the joy of art and creativity to children and their families in hospitals across Connecticut. Ever since I was young, I have had a talent in drawing and painting and a knack for creativity and making things unique. I love to scrapbook and take photos. I am currently a student getting my general studies associate degree at Manchester Community College. I have plans of transferring to UHart to get a degree in architecture/interior design. I want to make everything around me beautiful and I want to make things beautiful for other people as well. Art is in everything that I do. In my free time I love going to concerts, spending time out in nature, and hanging out with my family, friends and my pet snake! I love new experiences and learning just about any topic. I can't wait to help people get their creative juices flowing and create memorable times!

"Being around creation of any kind is marvelous and thrilling to me." Given a choice, Jen Wisner always chooses art. She found creativity an important outlet for most of her life and loves witnessing it in others. Jen home-schools her three children and pursues a life of adventure, reading, travel, and friends. She is fascinated by learning and enjoys broadening her horizons. Being with people and discovering their uniqueness is one of her favorite things to do. Jen has studied art in school at Mitchell College and UConn, but began her career as a Special Education Teacher, before leaving to raise her kids. Although she enjoys music of all kinds, Jen spent eight years as a terrible bass player in a local punk band. She has been to 46 of the 50 states and hopes to complete her tour in her lifetime. Jen likes trees, yoga, cooking, and painting Crappy Portraits. And wine!

Ever since she was a child, Natalie was drawn to visual art. Gaining inspiration from the fantastical worlds of film, books, and games, she spent most of her childhood sketching from her imagination. This paired with her love for helping others inspired her to pursue art in hopes of one day becoming a teacher. While obtaining her BFA at the Hartford Art School, she also fell in love with freelance illustration as a career. Currently, Natalie sees herself as having the best of both worlds! When she's not encouraging others to unleash their creativity at Muse, she's freelancing as an illustrator for board and card games.

                    • Jack Bliss
Jack has loved art since the first time she picked up a crayon. It was always her favorite class, her favorite hobby, and her life goal (once she realized she was allergic to cats and couldn't be a vet). She earned a degree in Fine Art from Manchester Community College, and started her career teaching drawing and painting (and any art class that had no teacher) to kids at summer camps, after-school programs, birthday parties and fairs. When her career took an unexpected turn away from art, she channeled her creativity into baking and cooking, and picked up various crafts, some of which she excelled at (like paper snowflakes), and many of which she dropped (don't ask her to knit you anything, it won't end well). She continued finding time for art here and there throughout the years, painting murals for family members and making drawings for friends, until one of those friends brought her to Muse, and she knew she couldn't ignore her love of art any more. So she shifted her career back where it belongs, and is delighted to share her love of painting with others, encouraging them to embrace their own creativity and take joy in the play of colors on canvas!
