  • Nikki M

Visual artist Nikki is best known for her afro-celestial illustrations and paintings. She describes her work as "afro-celestial" because she can't seem to declare any piece finished without adding a few astral elements to it. In addition, her work often portrays the strength and beauty of people of color through the use of bold colors, a subtle darkness, and out-of-this-world themes. Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Nikki now resides in Maryland where she received a degree in Elementary Education from Bowie State University. A former K-5 art teacher, she now spends and her days working on commissions, personal projects, and vending at music festivals. Aside from art, some of Nikki's other interests include cooking, holistic health, gardening, and caring for animals. Her work can be found online at heyshedraws.bigcartel.com or on Instagram and Twitter - both @HeySheDraws.
