  • Jordan Shackelford

    Jordan Shackelford began his study of the Arts at a young age copying his favorite cartoon characters from the television. He later studied the art of drawing and painting at the Suitland High School Visual and Performing Arts program. Jordan was offered a scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia where he graduated majoring in Oil Painting. Since graduating Jordan has been active in beautifying his community through his Artwork. He creates murals and works on canvas that transforms schools, offices, homes, and daycares into colorful and inspiring places of infinite possibilities. He works with youth art programs and senior citizen art therapy sessions and believes art is all about exploring your creativity, building your confidence and trying something new.

  • Kayla McAfee

    Kayla McAfee attended Bishop McNamara High School where she began her artistic career in creative writing, spoken word, and drawing from observation. She continued growing upon her crafts at Towson University where she majored in Art & Design, with a focus in sculpture, and a double minor in Art History and Museum Studies. While at Towson, she was able to explore all kinds of art techniques such as wood working, metal working, graphic design, oil painting, and human figure ceramic sculptures. Kayla's favorite place to be is in the studio creating or helping others to create. She wishes to eventually pursue a career in interior design. "

  • Nekol Gaskins

    Nekol is a contemporary artist best known for celebrity portraits and her bold, dynamic use of color. Nekol's work is inspired by urban culture and influenced by her upbringing in NE Washington, DC. Receiving her first formal training in the arts at Suitland High School's Visual and Performing Arts program, Nekol moved on to receive a degree in Graphic Design from the School of Art and Design at Montgomery College.     Karin Law is a 2016 graduate of St. Andrews University with a B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a visual artist, crafter and sculptor. She is very confident in how she carries herself without coming off as cocky, and emits positive vibes and good energy. She loves to have fun and interact with people. Karin lives by two things, "to thy own self be true" and treat others how you would want to be treated.

  • Nikki Moon Manteen

    Visual artist Nikki Moon is best known for her afro-celestial illustrations and paintings. She describes her work as "afro-celestial" because she can't seem to declare any piece finished without adding a few astral elements to it. In addition, her work often portrays the strength and beauty of people of color through the use of bold colors, a subtle darkness, and out-of-this-world themes. Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Nikki now resides in Maryland where she received a degree in Elementary Education from Bowie State University. A former K-5 art teacher, she now spends and her days working on commissions, personal projects, and vending at music festivals. Aside from art, some of Nikki's other interests include cooking, holistic health, gardening, and caring for animals.     Eddie Caine is an self taught visual artist residing in PG county Maryland, He always loved the animation of his favorite cartoons and the subway graffiti art growing up as a child in Brooklyn NY. He loved art early on, as he remembers having a passion for it when he was learning how to write his name. Eddie finds inspiration from daily life and a number of late artists before him, such as Keith Haring and the great J.M Basquiat that shares the same birthday and birth place as him. Eddie is an unorthodox artist that loves to be free when he creates and being able to spark that inner artist that some may not know existed inside of themselves.

    Dominique is a contemporary artist. She is best described as a creative, meaning from graffiti to sculpting, to finger painting, there is no form of art she isn't willing to try. Her fun loving, free spirit is what makes her the artist she is today. She looks forward to encouraging and supporting others to explore their inner artist. Besides being a creative on canvas, she enjoys creating masterpiece meals in the kitchen. She also loves traveling and hopes to one day travel to every continent.

    James is a creative, out of the box thinker. He spends his days as a personal trainer and his evenings sketching and painting. Being a self taught artist, he has taken the opportunity to try almost every form of art. From chalk to tea leaves, oil to acrylic, and street art murals, he has made art with several different types of applications on anything that can hold the paint including himself majority of the time. It's safe to say that art has always been a passion of his. James looks forward to the chance to express that passion through teaching.

    Born and raised in the DMV, Nicole, or Nikki,as most people call her, has always gravitated towards the arts. Though she loves the challenge of continuously learning new mediums and has dabbled in all sorts of artistic arenas, she is most drawn to expressing her artistic abilities through the abstract. She believes that anyone can be an artist and loves to encourage people to embrace their creative freedom through the arts.

  • Aziza Douglas

    Aziza better known as Zee, was born in Cali., raised in DC and now resides in Southern Maryland. Her art education of began when she was 4 years old. Her dad was her first teacher, and is her biggest influence and inspiration. Growing up, Zee would assist her dad working at the top Face Painting Stand at many different festivals in Chicago. During these events, she was exposed to various art forms and expressions of creativity. With her love for the arts she graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she focused on Literary/Media. After HS she attended Bowie State Univ. & earned a degree in Communications. Zee's art love even led her to attain a Certification in MakeUp Artistry. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling and creating art.

  • Reynaldo Quinn

    Reynaldo is a visual artist from the great state of New Jersey. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Seton Hall University with a focus in studio art. After a brief career as a wine and spirits salesman, Reynaldo decided to relocate to the DMV in 2008 to become an art teacher. Since then, he has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school level while studying art education at American University and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. During his spare time, he mentores high school students, coaches high school basketball, and creates mixed media portraiture and sculpture pieces that he actively displays in group art shows. Reynaldo's teaching philosophy is based off of Pablo Picasso's quote "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he/she grows up."

    Jemn is a multidisciplinary artist with concentration in curation, graphic design, and visual art. In 2008 Jemn began writing and producing songs, cultivating her musical style and industry savvy; giving her the foundation she needs to organize shows and build relationships within the artist community. As of 2014 Jillian has successfully coordinated art-based events in Houston, Texas, making a name for herself under her brand The Regal People. Her days include managing digital content for The Regal People's online presence, maintaining a safe and exciting working environment as a Teaching Artist, activating her newly opened interactive art space, Perception, and exhibiting her skills all throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
