There are a few FREE parking garages around the Mosaic District studio. There is one directly across the street near the big pink giraffe mural. There is also free street parking near the entrance of the studio as well. There is another just behind the studio. • Katie Runnerstrom

Katie Runnerstrom found her passion for art at the Torpedo Factory in Old Towne, Alexandria, VA at just 6 years old. She received her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Virginia Tech, where she became inspired from studying science and nature, which began to shape her artwork. Since school, she's lived and worked in LA, NYC, and is now back in the DMV area. Where ever she lives, she looks for ways to share her creative abilities with the community; through murals, shows, and events. She creates works of art in acrylic, watercolor, and even chalk, specializing in chalk art for local shops, restaurants, and weddings. Her work means to remind people of where they are, and inspire them to pay closer attention to the beautiful details in life.

  • Brandy Freeman

By day, Brandy is a Graphic Designer; by night her mission in life is to use creativity in every aspect of life. A musician and artist at heart, she paints, sings, plays piano, writes music and considers herself constantly a student of the universe and the beauty within it. Brandy attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where she received her bachelor's degree in Communication. In the course of her studies she discovered her passion: that visual communication through design and art was of utmost importance in our world where perspectives can be completely different, but archetypes and metaphor are universal. As a longtime patron of Muse Paintbar, she's excited to paint and share her passion at one of her favorite places to be.

  • Anna Joseph

Anna discovered her passion for art at a very young age when she found herself sketching portraits of her own family and friends that she continues to do till date. As an Indian, born and raised in Qatar, she channels her love for culture, nature and travel as an inspiration to create calming visuals in most mediums. Anna received her Design Masters in Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she was able to push the boundaries of design by being artistic and poetic in her projects. While she is not at her day job as a designer, you will find her painting abstract landscapes, creating designs for Minted or building a piece of furniture. As part of Muse Paintbar, she is thrilled to be able to grow as an artist and have the opportunity to inspire everyone toward artistic insight and creativity.

  • Francesca Falvo

Francesca graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in communication arts. Currently she freelances just about anything from large abstract paintings, to portraiture and digital media. Francesca enjoys experimenting with multiple mediums and styles in her work. She doesn't like to label herself with a distinct style because she believes in having multiple styles, it just depends on what she's making. Francesca believes art is more about the actual act of creating and enjoying the process rather than the final product of the piece. The content of her works are typically very personal. Francesca tries her best to speak to her audience on an emotional level while also leaving the rest for their own creative interpretation. She has high hopes in continuing her artistic journey by influencing art therapy and artistic expression as a healthy outlet in everyday life.

  • Matt Cullen

Some people collect stamps, some people play music, some grow a flower or two in a garden. Matt paints...Matt paints a lot. Born and raised Virginia artist, Matt has thrived in art schooling and practice. With a degree in painting and printmaking from VCU and paintbrush in hand, he is ready to take on the world. Puns, messy hands, wine, and endless hilarity are to be expected when in his vicinity. Having worked with kids (and being one himself), he haphazardly throws paint and ink on things and hopes it looks rad. Matt paints surreal super colorful landscapes and prints. Bigger, more color, and more "umph!"? are all moto's of his artistic practice. He strongly believes in getting away from the boring day to day life of: working, commuting, and looking at computer screens. He stresses that people should get out with friends, create awesome memories, and have a ball trying new things!
